Stephen Lipsky, M.D.

Stephen Lipsky, M.D. has spent the past 28 years striving to provide the best care for his patients and their families. Dr. Lipsky graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY at the top of his class majoring in Chemistry. He then graduated second in his medical school class from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Lipsky interned at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Lipsky completed his residency at Manhattan Eye Ear Nose and Throat Hospital where he was a leader in resident lead research. Dr. Lipsky earned a fellowship position under Eugene Helveston, M.D. in Indianapolis, IN. This fellowship provided him with in depth experience in all aspects pediatric eye care and adult strabismus. This includes treating lazy eye/amblyopia, pediatric cataract surgery, pediatric glaucoma surgery, pediatric ptosis, orbital surgery, as well as, eye misalignment in children and adults and tear duct treatment and surgery.

Dr. Lipsky arrived in Atlanta 20 years ago. Prior to arriving in Atlanta, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown University and in private practice in Warwick, RI. He was voted Attending of the Year by his residents and was invited to lecture and educate around the country.

In 2000 he entered private practice in Atlanta and the surrounding metropolitan communities. He has had the privilege of treating tens of thousands of patients and has enjoyed watching them grow to adulthood and, in some cases, parenthood! He continues to expand upon his skills in treating children with all facets of pediatric eye disease and adults with eye misalignment and double vision.

Dr. Lipsky enjoys spending time with his grown children, his wife and their dog Happy. Seeking opportunities to give back, Dr. Lipsky has been on the board of Ian’s Friends Foundation, a pediatric brain tumor research foundation, and in 2019, he and his wife were honored by the organization at their annual fund raising event.

Christopher H. Lasecki, M.D.

Christopher H. Lasecki, M.D.

Christopher H. Lasecki, M.D. is fellowship-trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. Dr. Lasecki specializes in surgical eye care for children, addressing conditions such as strabismus (eye misalignment), tear duct blockages, cataracts, glaucoma, and eyelid abnormalities. He also performs surgeries for adults with strabismus to alleviate double vision or restore a more normal appearance to the eyes.

Dr. Lasecki grew up in Mobile, Alabama, and met his wife while attending the University of Alabama. After completing his undergraduate education, they returned to Mobile, where he earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, serving as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Lasecki further specialized through a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, working as the only fellow with one of the largest and most surgically productive practices in the country and gaining extensive experience in complex eye surgery for both children and adults.

While not seeing patients, Dr. Lasecki spends most of his time chasing and playing with his son who is a very active toddler. Dr. Lasecki looks forward to the privilege of caring for the children in the Atlanta Metropolitan area as the newest doctor with Children’s Eye Care.

Melody Garcia, O.D.

Melody Garcia, O.D.

Melody Garcia, O.D., joined the team at Children’s Eye Care in February of 2021. She is a seasoned expert with over 15 years of experience in the field of pediatric optometry who brings a passion for providing children and their families premium eye care and treatment. Dr. Garcia provides our patients expertise across a variety of specialties: eye misalignment, lazy eye, glasses, specialty contact lenses, and comprehensive pediatric eye care. Notably, she has advanced experience addressing the progression of nearsightedness and leads our Myopia Intervention Program.

Dr. Garcia is a native of Queens, N.Y. and a devoted Mets fan. She graduated with honors from City College of New York with a degree in biology and secondary education. She then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Salus University. Dr. Garcia was practicing with a pediatric ophthalmology group in Queens, NY before joining Children’s Eye Care. She enjoys spending time with her family, her two dogs, bike riding, running and trying new restaurants.

Bevin Bithell, C.O.

Bevin Bithell, C.O.

Ms. Bithell, orthoptist, is a key member of the treatment team here at Children’s Eye Care. She has worked with Dr. Lipsky since 2014 and is integral to our team approach to caring for patients with lazy eye and eye misalignment. She was awarded the Richard Scobee Memorial Award in 2020, recognizing her as the best and brightest in her field. We are so honored to have her here at Children’s Eye Care.

She completed her training in Orthoptics at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. She is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia where she received a degree in Biology and Psychology. Ms. Bithell combines her years of clinical experience and top-notch training with unparalleled attention to detail and compassion for her patients. She is committed to working with patients and families to provide individualized treatment plans for a lifetime of better vision.

She is a devoted fan of UGA Football and enjoys children’s theater, dance and trying new restaurants. Go Dawgs and Go Blue!

Humayra Bobby, C.O.

Humayra Bobby, C.O.

Humayra Bobby, C.O. is our newest certified orthoptist. She attended the University of Michigan where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Spanish. After working closely with ophthalmologists as a medical scribe and observing the diverse diagnoses and complexities of the human eye, she continued on to complete her training in Orthoptics at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. Humayra’s main focus is eye movement disorders and amblyopia. With the help of the team, she formulates and manages treatment plans for patients of all ages.

Humayra grew up in the Detroit area and loved everything about the city except the harsh winters. During her free time she enjoys running marathons, gardening and hanging out with her French Bulldog, Franklin.
